Trump and "Fake news"

CJ-Moki here. A word on President Trump's idea of "Fake news":
Earlier this evening, President Trump posted a tweet (embedded above), where he labels the "failing" New York Times, as well as CNN, as "jokes". By referring to them as such in a tweet where he also said that "FAKE NEWS media knowingly doesn't tell the truth", President Trump implies that the New York Times and CNN are both fake news.

Obviously, this is far from true. Wikipedia defines fake news as being "a type of hoax or deliberate spread of misinformation, be it via the traditional news media or via social media, with the intent to mislead in order to gain financially or politically." Neither the New York Times or CNN are classified as fake news sources on Wikipedia (or on most reputable sources I can think of), and I am baffled by the fact that the President of the United States has trouble differentiating reliable news sources from fake news.

CJ-Moki, signing off.
