The year is 2015. The late Satoru Iwata, then-president of Nintendo, announces that Nintendo is working on a new gaming console, then codenamed the "NX". Speculation is abound for more than a year afterwards, with little to no news from Nintendo.

The year is 2016. While President Iwata had passed away, Nintendo reveals the NX to be the Nintendo Switch, a hybrid console that can function as both a portable and home console.

The year is 2017. Desperate page-refreshers on the internet attempt to buy a Switch from several online retailers, as well as going to the stores in person. Some succeed, many fail, and many will have to wait for a couple months.

Our family was one of those that succeeded.

By March 7, there will be a Nintendo Switch in our household.

CJ-Moki, signing off.
